A family friend sent me this in response to my recent Obama blog entry. It's a short video clip of a decorated colonel testifying last month before the United Nations on the subject of Israel's alleged warcrimes against Palestinian civilians during the Gaza conflict.
Worth checking out.

It really just gets back to the point: there are always two sides to every story. Hamas has been using this tactic for a long while now without being called out on it in the mainstream press.
On the other hand the IDF does sometimes retaliate seemingly without regard to the severe and disproportionate civilian casualties.
Is there a solution? I doubt it. Both sides want the same piece of land and both sides claim it as their divine right. And in their hearts extremists on both sides want the other side (and their temple/mosque) to be wiped off the face of the earth.
I doubt there'll ever be peace in the Middle East, no matter how good a diplomat Obama may be.
